STUDIES IN DIVINE CONSPIRACY By: SILVER BURDETT
|
People have been talking about conspiracy for as long as mankind has roamed the earth, and believe it
or not, there might be something to the idea.
These days, the one that sparks most of our attention is the belief that One Worlders are conspiring to
bring us all under the heels of a Big Brother type of One World society where our every move, thought, or
intent will be scrutinized and restricted, measured by their concept of political correctness.
And then there is the idea of a DIVINE CONSPIRACY, which may have been manipulating us all since the
time of "Adam and Eve” and the “Garden of Eden.” After all, who allowed the “Serpent”, or “NACHASH”,
into the Garden in the first place? Some people think that there is a kind of gigantic contest going on
between Yahweh and Satan, “the Devil”. Yet, in Isaiah 45: 7, Yahweh is quoted: “… I make peace, and
create evil …” If Yahweh created evil, there is no way the Evil One can be equal to Him! So, where’s the
contest?
Is it possible that Yahweh may be responsible for engineering a great conspiracy with man at its center?
Perhaps it is time for humankind to buckle down and learn a few harsh lessons about the real world and
about themselves.
Bible experts say that the Genesis account is most likely symbolic, but it shows a means of forcing Adamic
man to buckle down and learn truths about their basic nature by pitting man against his environment and
other people.
But, that’s the rub. Mankind never seems to learn his lessons, even though Yahweh has been working in
every generation by sending His prophets, apostles, ministers and teachers to help man understand.
(Surely Yahweh Elohim will do nothing but He revealeth His secrets unto His servants the prophets” Amos
3: 7). But, man always tries to avoid the very hard work of understanding his predicaments by seeking a
scapegoat on which to place all of the blame for the problems he encounters.
In the “Garden of Eden”, when Eve “picked the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil”,
the one that she and Adam were explicitly commanded not to even touch, and “ate” it, and then shared it
with Adam, what was the first thing she and Adam did when found out? Adam blamed Eve, and, by
inference, Yahweh Himself, “The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I
did eat,” (Gen. 3: 12).
Now, do you suppose Eve hog-tied Adam and forced him to eat the fruit? I don’t think so! But, who did
Eve blame? “The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat,” was her excuse, or, in our modern vernacular …
“The Devil made me do it …” (Gen. 3: 13).
So, in this day, just like Adam and Eve, those of us who are aware of a worldwide despotic conspiracy
seem to believe there is nothing we can do to change the conditions of our world … that everything that
happens to us is inevitable and that those “evil conspirators” are to blame. Just like Adam and Eve, we
wring our hands and moan and groan about our plight, yet do absolutely nothing to remedy the situation.
So, who or what is ultimately to blame for our predicament, and by extension, the world’s predicament?
What would you say if I told you that the blame lies squarely on YOUR … and MY … shoulders?
It is very common for us to place the blame for the world’s troubles on the catch-word: society. Society
needs fixed! The government should throw more money at it. The government should bring the poor up
out of their squalor. Never put a proven murderer to death … rehabilitate him … after all, it’s not his fault
that he turned to a life of crime. Pour more money into education. Find new drugs to cure all our
diseases. Throw more money to the drug enforcement agencies so they can fight the cartels. Bring on a
world government to end all wars. If we were all equal monetarily, if there was no discrimination and
everyone had the same chance to get ahead, it would solve all our problems. The government should fix
the environment before its toxic substances kill us. Let the government regulate every aspect of our
environment to eliminate global warming. If we create a utopian society all will be well. IF … IF… IF … ad
nauseum. Yada, yada, yada … Of course, there’s nothing wrong with you and me, especially not me! All
of us are well intentioned, right? You and me, we’re good! It’s society that is evil! Isn’t that the message
out there today? Even in our Churches. (Sounds like Adam and Eve in the Garden, doesn’t it)?
Does anyone ever ask what Yahweh has to say about all of this? We’ve been brain-washed into thinking
that we can choose to believe any way we desire, and Yahweh will honor our decision. But, who speaks
for Yahweh today? There are over 600 so-called Christian denominations in the world, yet they differ in
many points of their basic doctrines and have the gall to claim that their beliefs come straight from the
Bible! “For Yahweh is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints,” (1
Cor. 14: 33). Read the words for yourself! Yahweh did not devise all those differing doctrines!! MAN
DID!!! Have you ever taken a close look at what YOU believe? Or, what YOUR Church teaches? Where
did those teachings come from? Have you ever sat down with a Bible and proven whether or not the
things you have been taught come from the Bible? Or, have you simply taken other people’s words for
your beliefs? Did they come from your minister? Your peer group?
If you have begun chasing the origins of your Church or its doctrines, then you probably realize that
something IS drastically wrong with our society. But, that something is not to be found anywhere other
than HUMAN NATURE. But, like Adam and Eve, society would rather sweep its problems under the rug,
and keep each other ignorant of the facts, rather than to actually do something about it. Would you like to
know why?
The world and it’s “society” is “Anti-Yahweh” and, as well, it is against Yahweh’s glorious plan for man.
(The carnal mind is enmity against Yahweh: for it is not subject to the Law of Yahweh, neither indeed CAN
BE,” Romans 8: 7). Man’s natural state, his normal mind, the one every on of us is born with, begins as
biased against its Creator. Yet Yahweh is the one who designed our minds and gave it to us. We, of our
own selves, in our natural state, cannot be subject to Yahweh … in other words, we cannot naturally
agree with Yahweh’s purposes. His ideal civilization is in opposition to what we “think” would be best for
us. (“There is a way which SEEMETH RIGHT unto a man, but the end therof are the ways of death,”
(Proverbs 14: 12). (“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith
Yahweh. For the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my
thoughts than your thoughts,” (Isaiah 55: 8 – 9). THINK … if everything in the religious world and in the
normal world is so dead set against Yahweh, and yet Yahweh is the designer of this condition … why???
The answer: Yahweh wanted to find out if His creation is sharp enough to figure it out. It’s kind of like
those examinations we take when applying for a job with some large corporation. To get a good position,
you must get a high score when you’re tested.
So, what are the normal inclinations of this human nature we are all born with? What is so wrong with it,
that if we follow its lead, we are actually working against Yahweh’s plan for us? And, why would He create
such a nature in us anyway?
First of all, let’s look at what this nature produces for us in our society, and see if it fits the way our world
actually is, as in Idolatry, worshipping false gods. Now, I’m not talking about setting up some graven image
and bowing down to it. But, what about putting the ‘almighty dollar’ before Yahweh, or how about putting
your family before Yahweh? What about putting off Bible study or worship in favor of that great football
game you’ve been looking forward to all week? What about entertainment in general, or your station in
life, or the esteem of your friends or coworkers? Need I go on?
According to Yahshua, there are only two great commandments, and if we do them we have fulfilled all of
the law and the prophets. They are: “You shall love Yahweh with all your heart, soul, and mind, and your
neighbor as yourself.” But, yet, Yahweh tells us this is not possible for us to do with our normal human
nature. A change is required.
Now we all can see how others need to change, but do we ever honestly try to change ourselves? It’s
tough to undergo self examination. But we need to do that, because we do deceive ourselves. In Jeremiah
17: 9 – 10, we are told, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
I, Yahweh, searcheth the heart, I try the reins …” Yes, even those who believe they are doing good, and
getting along so magnificently and leading a wonderful, good and sinless life, need change. According to
the Bible, the do-gooders and humanitarians of the world, even if they do wonderful things, are deceiving
themselves … especially if they do their good works for the wrong reasons. They do not understand
Yahweh’s standards, His goals for humankind. “There is none that do good, no, not one …” (Romans 3:
12). Even our Messiah, Yahshua said, “Why callest me good? There is none good but one, that is
Yahweh,” (Matthew 19: 17). You see, in His mind, even Yahshua was not good! He understood human
nature, and knew that even He was born with it, and He had to fight against it all the time, every day.
And that is the answer. Yahshua was our example, showing how we need to live to get in step with
Yahweh’s ideal civilization. And of and by ourselves, it is impossible to please Yahweh! To do so, we must
be converted! We must change! Yahshua overcame His human nature and showed us how we might do
the same. He offers His own life as an example for us, to show us how to overcome. But, overcoming our
human nature and the foibles of the world is not an easy task. In fact, it is a battle. Paul explained this
battle in Romans 7. Read it for yourself. Our human nature wars against Yahweh’s Divine Nature and vice
versa. But, that is how we grow … by using Yahweh’s Holy Spirit combined with our spirit, to overcome our
human inclinations and get in step with Yahweh’s government. And that whole process begins at
conversation.
Compare the process of change with … BODYBUILDING, because our teacher, Ed Chaffin is still doing it
after spending time in the hospital a year ago, it is familiar to him ... and to me by familiarization in that I
know him personally. Every bodybuilder knows about resistance training. If there is nothing to push
against, nothing to resist our efforts, there can be no development. The spiritual world works the same
way. That is why evil was created, and why we naturally are inclined toward doing evil. Evil offers the path
of least resistance. We only grow spiritually strong by fighting against the evil … against ourselves,
against resistance, using Yahweh’s perfection as a mirror to guage our development and progress.
No government on the face of the earth has ever been totally in step with Yahweh’s ideal for how mankind
should live and be ruled, yet every government has been ordained by Him. (Rom. 13: 1). The Republic
set up by our Founding Fathers under our Constitution probably comes closest to meeting Yahweh’s ideal
in our present age. But, we are in grave danger of losing that ideal along with the basic freedoms given
us by the Constitution. Already our country has devolved into a democracy, or a better definition might
be: “mobocracy, the rule of the mob.”
As stated before, conspiracies have always been with us. And our Founding Fathers understood this fact.
Samuel Adams said in 1774, “Conspiracies to pervert government into an engine of plunder and
oppression are a natural outgrowth of human nature. The depravity of mankind, that ambition and lust for
power above the law are … predominant passions in the breasts of most men.” Mr. Adams went on to
warn: “Ambitious scheming men have in all nations combined the worst passions of the human heart and
the worst projects of the human mind in league against the liberties of mankind.” Patrick Henry agreed. “I
dread the depravity of human nature … I will never depend on so slender a protection as the possibility of
being represented by virtuous men.”
Isn’t it interesting that even back then, those brilliant men understood human nature? They understood
human nature and were smart enough to fight against it so that they might adequately frame our
Constitution with its three branches of government and all its checks and balances in order to efficiently
distribute power rather than concentrate it. They understood centralized power and what it could do to
freedom. They knew that free states are fragile, and will easily degenerate into tyrannies unless vigilantly
protected by a free, knowledgeable, and uncorrupted electorate.
That’s where you and I come in. This is how Yahweh wanted us to be … to maintain freedom and
understanding. We need to do all within our power to vote in leaders for our government who understand
what is wrong with our country and who desire to restore the Constitution to its original ideal and intent, to
preserve the freedoms bestowed upon us by the Founding Fathers. But, you know what? Only those
people who have understood the content of this article and are truly converted will be able to meet
Yahweh’s ideal. Somehow, those of us who understand must assist the population in achieving critical
mass. During the Revolutionary War, only about three percent of the people could see and believe in the
vision presented by Ben Franklin and the rest of the Founders of our country. About the same number
believed enough to fight and die to win the freedoms our Constitution represents.
IF, today, three percent of the people were well informed enough to understand that the ideals held by
the Founders were almost identical with the original ones given by Yahweh, they might be able to turn this
nation around and set not only our ideals, but our Constitution in concrete beyond any future damage.
In the Declaration of Independence we are told: “All men are created equal,” … This means both those
who govern and those who are governed are equal before the law. So, if those who are governing us are
not abiding by our laws as written in our Constitution, then we should not tolerate their rule. Instead, truly
converted, understanding people should be voted in as our leaders. Look around you. Do you see
anyone who is not self serving, stationed in the higher echelons of government today?
But, you see, people who desire to serve others are precisely what we need to prove not only that we
understand our Constitution, but that we understand what Yahweh desires of us.
It is truly unfortunate that most people in government today are there to service their own deceitful hearts.
