I’m unaware of how many of you have ever had your complete horoscope plotted. But if you have, you already
know this next piece of information. Horoscopes are very individualistic. Just like our fingerprints, no two are
identical. They are plotted by using the exact time and location of a person’s birth. As an example of how
individualistic horoscopes truly are, my husband and his twin brother were born ten minutes apart. But during that
ten-minute interval the Ascendant had changed, so all of their shared planets were in different houses, influencing
their separate basic make-ups to a great degree. Thus these Sun sign glimpses are quite general, merely giving an
indication of the way a person will function within the sign.
Libra, a cardinal air sign, is the 7th sign of the Zodiac, Sept. 23 – Oct. 22. Its key phrase is "I balance," and its
symbol is the scales. Libras are ruled by Venus, giving them charm and grace in expression, combined with a desire
for the approval of others. Libras, above all other signs, need other people, especially a mate or partner. The
energy and direction this individual needs, in order to properly develop, must come from within and without in equal
measure. They need to achieve a compromise between the passion and the intellect, the physical world and the
nonphysical world. Their task is to seek true objectivity by refusing to be knocked off balance by the burdens of
emotional or physical attachments. Individual Libras may not achieve, or even strive for, this type of objectivity and
balance. But those who do achieve it are the happiest and most productive.
Venus is the planet of beauty and social grace. This planet enhances the emotional, physical and psychological
pleasure coming from beauty in all forms. Books, music, flowers, and perfume are Venus-inspired delights. If a Libra’
s environment is not aesthetically pleasing, this person can become depressed.
Libras work well in the legal profession, public relations, art, the performing arts, music, and partnerships that
require close cooperation.
Scorpio, a fixed water sign, is the 8th sign, Oct. 23 – Nov. 21. Its key phrase is "I desire," and its symbol is the
scorpion. No other sign can be more potent for good or evil. Scorpios are ruled by Mars, and because of this warlike
energy, they act with all their power, so it is very important that they set out on the proper course from the beginning.
Highly developed Scorpios are the most ardent defenders of justice, even in the face of death. They have this
tremendous staying power because they are in a fixed sign. These people are not inclined to fear death because
they have a mystical understanding of the cyclic nature of manifestation.
Scorpios are not always diplomatic because they believe in expressing their ideas and feelings with unfiltered
truthfulness. They would rather say nothing at all than give a watered-down version of their true opinions and
emotions.
They have an intense drive to investigate the nature of things, thus, they work best in professions of detection,
science, research, and occult investigations. Their intuition is well-developed, giving them the ability to penetrate the
inner thoughts of others and extract secret information from them.

There are many components to each of our birth charts. Besides our sun sign we have all the rest of the planets and other signs existing in some area of our chart at the moment of our birth. Our lattitude and longetude also alters things, as well as the relativity of all these things to each other. We are as individual as snowflakes, and as joined as snow. In this column we will look at the "big" picture in general.
