What is Abrahamic Kabbalah?
By Dr. Gary Hanson Ph.D.
Some folks have asked what the Abrahamic Kabbalah is, and how it differs from the Jewish Kabbalah.
The answer is quite simple. You can go to a good bookstore and find dozens of books on Kabbalah, and
they will all be based on the Jewish Kabbalah. You will not find the Abrahamic Kabbalah in any bookstore.

Abraham wrote 3 books explaining his observations and his conclusions, and these have all been studied
thoroughly by those who have written about the Kabbalah. However, they missed the most important
thrust of Abraham’s discovery. And that is what sets all others apart from the Abrahamic Kabbalah.
The Abrahamic Kabbalah is somewhat like the so-called Bible Code. It has been concealed within the
Bible for all of these past Millennium, and even those who have discovered it have not grasped its
awesome truth.

The greatest difference between the Abrahamic Kabbalah and all others, can be summed up in one
incredible sentence. “The material universe was manifested so that the Eternal God could die!”

Ponder that idea for a moment. The questions, how? Why? When? Where? Probably come to mind right
about now, and these questions can be answered by the Abrahamic Kabbalah!

Kabbalah means, “to receive.”  In other words, the Principles of operation, and the knowledge possessed
by man, were received from somewhere. Man did not just think up the knowledge, understanding and
wisdom that he may have possessed. He received it from somewhere else. He received it from the mind of
the Eternal Elohim.

Jeremiah 45:6b says, “I am YAHWEH and there is none else! I form the light and create darkness...”
Let us look at these awesome words again! If there is none else, what does that say about you? It says
that you do not really exist. It says that you are really an extension of YAHWEH. Think about the words, “I
form the light.”  The Eternal Elohim is the Light. It has always existed. He formed it into all that exists. He
formed you out of the light. You are light, and therefore, eternal.

“I create darkness.” Darkness is not eternal. Darkness is created. Darkness has a beginning! Darkness is
the beginning of death. Darkness is a temporary absence of light. Darkness was brought into being so as
to initiate action. This is how the material universe was emanated so that the Eternal God could die.

Why?

This question can be answered in Ephesians 1:3-4, “Blessed be the God and Father of our master,
Yahshua Messiah, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Messiah.
According as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and
without blame before him in love.”

The Father has chosen us (his children) to become holy and blameless before him. This indicates that we
were not holy and were to blame for something. And this situation existed before the foundation of the
world! That is to say that we had a problem before the material universe was emanated. That is why the
universe was emanated and we were thrust into it. It was to give us the opportunity to fix the pre-existing
problem.

When?

Revelation 13:8 speaks of “...the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”  Do you see the picture
here? The Lamb, the Messiah, was slain from the time the material universe was emanated, so that our
pre-existing problem could be fixed.

Paul speaks of this in Colossians 1:26 as “The mystery which has been hid from ages and from
generations, but is now made known to his saints.”

Paul, in Romans 16:25-26, spoke of “the preaching of Yahshua Messiah, according to the revelation of
the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, but now is made manifest...”

The material universe has existed for 13 to 14 billion years. Planet earth is said to be 4.5 billion years old.
But the manifestation of the death of the Eternal God only happened in recent times. This knowledge was
received and reported by John in John 1:1-5, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
Eternal God, and the Word was Eternal God. The same was in the beginning with Eternal God. All things
were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was
the light of men. And the light shines in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.”

Remember that Darkness is a temporary creation, and that Eternal Light is molded into various things.
John 1:8-13 continues, “[John the Baptist] was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light
that lights everyone that comes into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and
the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received
him, to them gave he power to become the sons of Eternal God, even to them that believe on his name.
These were born (molded) not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of Eternal
God.”

Here we see that the Word was the same as Eternal Creator God. The Word was the same as Eternal
Light. The Light, the Word, the Creator of the universe, came to the earth to receive his own back. In
other words, he came to fix the pre-existing problem of those who would be the Sons of Eternal God. He
came to die.

John 1:14 continues, “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. (And we beheld his glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.”

As you can see, the Creator of the Universe, took on a material body, just like us, so that he could
experience death. But remember, darkness and death are temporary.

John was privy to the secret mystery of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, because after
baptizing Yahshua, he said, (verse 29) “...Behold, the Lamb of Eternal God, which takes away the sin of
the world.”

This is the most important lesson we can learn from the Abrahamic Kabbalah. Abraham knew it, and so
did Paul. Paul wrote in Hebrews 11:17,19, “By faith, Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac, and
he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son... Accounting that YAHWEH was able
to raise him up even from the dead, from which he received him in a figure.”

Paul is saying that Abraham realized that his test was a reflection of the Lamb slain from the foundation of
the world. He apparently believed that if he were required to go through the action of slaying his son, he
would be resurrected from death.

When Abraham and his son Isaac (who was an adult at the time) were preparing the altar for the sacrifice,
Isaac asked where was the lamb? Abraham replied, [Genesis 22:8], “My son, YAHWEH will provide himself
a lamb for a burnt offering.”

Abraham understood that the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world would be manifest as a human
male. He realized that Isaac might turn out to be the lamb that YAHWEH would provide himself. But he
assumed that Isaac’s death would only be temporary.

I hope this helps you to understand a little bit more about the Abrahamic Kabbalah.

If you wish to gain a clearer  understanding about Abrahamic Kabbalah, my book, Dynamic Kabbalah
goes into greater detail. Dynamic Kabbalah explains how to activate the Word, or the Messiah, within you
to help you create a more productive life.
